Background

Beyond TCNL

Tactile Communication & Neurorehabilitation Laboratory at UW-Madison (TCNL)

Welcome to TCNL, founded in 1992 and reorganized in January, 2008. Our mission is to develop solutions for sensory and neurological disorders by applying principles of neuroplasticity, enabling the brain to process information in new ways and rehabilitate after injury caused by trauma or disease.

HOW TO CONTACT TCNL

Please, direct all inquiries regarding Montel Williams appearance on the Oprah Show 11/10/2010 to http://www.news.wisc.edu/TCNL/ . TCNL personnel are unfortunately not able to directly respond to inquiries.

Becase we have been overwhelmed by inquiries due to recent press and media attention, we ask that that you please read the information below about how to contact us. Responses may be delayed but we will get back to you. Please do not directly call or email the investigators or any other University of Wisconsin offices. Thank you for your patience, and for your interest in TCNL research.

If you are a patient with a neurological disorder looking to participate in research studies as a volunteer human subject, please see our patients & subjects page. Please understand that opportunities for participation are extremely limited.

If you are interested in learning more about our lab and research, please see our About TCNL and projects pages. Another good source of introductory information is the first two lay-level lectures listed on our lectures page.

For scientific, clinical, and media inquiries, please see our contact page.

If you wish to support and expand TCNL research, gifts are gratefully accepted via the TCNL Fund at the University of Wisconsin Foundation. TCNL is a self-supporting lab.

TCNL is based on the work of Paul Bach-y-Rita, M.D., neuroplasticity pioneer and originator of the line of current research.
